Payment page is in French but I do not speak French

If you live in France the secure payment page will default to French.

When you are transferred to the PayPal payment server the language is selected to match your country of residence. We apologise for the inconvenience but changing language settings during payment is not yet an option with PayPal.

If you join PayPal you can select your language preference in your PayPal account. There is no charge to join PayPal and you would gain this useful facility for future orders.

The bad news is that French residents need to understand French to open a PayPal account. We have two suggestions:

1. Get a French speaking person to help you open a PayPal account and to change your language preference.

2. This is a bit unorthodox but should help: when you sign up for a PayPal Account, open two browsers with both going to https://www.paypal.com. On one browser, sign up for a French Account while on the other, sign up for a U.K. Account. Since the questions are exactly the same you could then use the UK Sign Up Page as a reference to your answers for the French Page.

Once you have your PayPal Account, please use the following instructions to change the language preference on your new PayPal Account.

1. Log in to your account at http://www.paypal.fr/fr
2. Click on the Profile subtab (Profil).
3. Click on the link ' Language Preference' (Préférence
linguistique).
4. Using the drop down menu select your language preference.
5. Click 'Save' (Enregistrer).
If you have selected English as your language, the PayPal site will be shown in English and you will receive emails from PayPal in English.

If your question is not covered by the above then please click here for our contact form.
