Printing problem

The pattern file should be saved to your computer before printing.

The String Art Fun pattern files have all been thoroughly tested and should print correctly if the following two conditions are met.

1. Use a recent version of the Acrobat reader.

The pattern files will open with Acrobat Reader version 5 or later. If your reader is older than this then visit the Adobe web site to download the latest version. This is free from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2_allversions.html

2. Ensure that your printer has enough memory.

Ensure that the printer has enough memory to print all page elements. To print at 300 dpi, the printer should have at least 2 MB of available RAM. To print at 600 dpi, the printer should have at least 4 to 6 MB of RAM. For instructions on determining available printer memory, see the printer documentation.

Resolve problems printing a specific pattern file

Symptoms:
Some pattern files print but a specific one does not.
Or:
Some pages print and some do not.
Or:
Pages print but the text is unreadable.

These symptoms point to memory problems. Do one or more of the following:

1. Exit from all other applications.

In Windows Me, 98, or 95, keep at least 50% of the system resources free when printing from an Acrobat product. If the system resources are below 50%, exit from all applications but the Acrobat product. Print the pattern file.

2. Turn off your printer for at least 15 seconds to flush its memory.

Then turn it back on and print the pattern file.

3. Restart your computer.

Your system may be out of memory or resources and this may restore them. Restart your computer and print the pattern file.

4. Print the pattern file in batches.

Print the pattern file a few pages at a time.
